For Example: If we were studying Lunar tide changes. Different info can tell about gravitational pull. You can learn about ocean currents. You can warn ships and boats where there are treacherous waves.

Coasts . . . :]

The flatback turtles in Australia, find Crab Island every year to bury their eggs in the sand. They use there arms to push the sand over the eggs so they wont get destroyed while develpoing. After 6 or 8 weeks the turtles will hatch and its a race to the ocean to stay alive. The flat back turtles lay a lot of eggs at one as do other flat back turtles. All because the bby turtles have a better chance at surving so the birds dont kill them all.

Coral Seas . . . :]

Reefs harden into a limestone skeleton to form. Corals feed on plankton and sunlight. The Humphead Parrotfish eats the coral and turns it into sand.

The Deep . . . :]

There are these cool looking jellyfishes and squids that are transparent. They light up looking like a disco party. They have photophores which give them the ability to light up different colours. Some animals also use a light to detect food and confuse predators.

- The Sun Heats The Surface Of The Ocean. Ocean Water Evaporates Into The Atmosphere, And The Ocean Becomes Cooler.

I Believe This Is Latent Heat Because The Sun Is Transfering Energy To The Ocean To Cool It And Evaporate The Water.

Cohesion, Adhesion, And Surface Tension. . . :]

This Is Cohesion Of Water. The Rain X Windsheild Treatment Lets The Rain Slid Right Off The Window Without Sticking Or Streaking. So It's Sticking To Itself Not The Windsheild.

This Is Surface Tension. The Lilly Pad Is Resisting The Tension So It Doesn't Sink.

This Is Adhesion. The Nail Polish Is Sticking To The Water So It Does Not Mix The Colors Together. This Is Called Nail Marbling. It's A Form Af Nail Art. The Water Helps Place The Colors In Their Own Barriers So They Dont Cross Over Each Other.

Herring becomes the feeding frenzy for rockfish. Once winter arrives, the Herring seek shelter because they are now hunted by Orca whales. The Orcas club the fish with their tails to knock them out by creating waves of pressure.

The penguins bones are solid in stead of air filled which is a pressure adaptation. Its heart doesn't beat as fast which helps the pengin adapt to low oxygen. The penguin likes to stay in one place for a long period of time, this helps by not breaking down the fats which keep them warm.

This video was interesting to me because i learned that fish help each other out with straying away from predators. Also, fish tend to swim in large groups of schools as a defensie mechanism.

The yeti crab is so unusual that a whole new family of animal had to be created to classify it.  In many ways the newly discovered species remains a mystery. Its hairy pincer arms host colonies of bacteria, which it may cultivate for food, o protection


A flying fish glides gracefully through the air. Underwater takeoff sprint at speeds of some 37 miles an hour. The fish have been known to soar 655 feet in a single flight.


A translucent body disguises a larval flounder to keep it safe from predators. It will lose this defense mechanism later in life. As they age the fish begin to swim on their sides and one eye slowly migrates until both are on the body’s “top side.”
